Before deciding to upgrade a computer or its individual components, for example, RAM or processor, you need to find out which motherboard is in the system unit. The motherboard is the main board of your computer and the entire system depends on it.

Step 1
There are three guaranteed ways to find out which motherboard is worth. The motherboard model is displayed on the monitor screen at the very beginning of the computer boot. On the first or second screen during loading, pay attention to the inscriptions that appear. Look for the names of the motherboard manufacturer in a separate line among them, for example: “ASUS A7N8X” or “GIGABYTE GA-5486AL”. However, if you do not know the manufacturer of the motherboard, then go to step 2.
Step 2
Disconnect power from the computer. After unscrewing the fastening screws and removing the side cover of the case of the system unit, carefully examine the motherboard. Most often, boards are marked by manufacturers in such a way that they can be easily identified. Look for a sticker with the name or in any other way the model indicated on the board.
Step 3
Another way to find out what the motherboard is worth is to use special programs that identify all the hardware installed on the computer. The most famous programs of this kind are SiSoftware Sandra and EVEREST. If you opted for EVEREST, then after launching on the left side of the window you will see the program menu. Among other menu items, select "Motherboard" and the sub-item with the same name. On the right side of the window, you will see all the characteristics of the motherboard, including its model and various properties. In the same menu, you can see technical specifications and data on the central processor, RAM and other most important system devices.
