Step 1
There are different ways to determine the type and manufacturer of the "motherboard". Unscrew the tightening screws and remove the side panel of the system unit. The model name is usually written between the PCI slots, between the memory slots and the processor, or along the top edge of the board. After turning on the computer, the models of some motherboards are displayed on the monitor as the first or second screen. Press the Pause / Break key to have time to read the title.
Step 2
You can use the programmatic method. Download the free PCWizard program on the developer's site https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/pc-wizard.html Unpack the archive and run PC Wizard.exe. Click the "Hardware" button and click on the motherboard icon. The information window will display information about Mb manufacturer, BIOS developer, its model, chipset and expansion buses.
Step 3
For more information, click on the "Motherboard" item. The program will analyze the device and display the result at the bottom of the screen.

Another free program for determining the configuration of a computer is System Information for Windows (SIW). You can download it on the developer's website https://www.gtopala.com/siw-download.php. Run the program. To install the Russian-language interface, select the Options command from the Tools menu. In the Language drop-down list, check the required item. Expand the Hardware node on the left side of the screen and click on the Motherboard item. The "Summary" section will display information about the board manufacturer, its model, version and serial number.
Step 5
Download the free CPU-Z program from the manufacturer's website https://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/1.60-setup-en.exe and run it. Go to the Mainboard tab. In the Manufacture section the program will display the name of the manufacturer, in the Model section - the motherboard model. In addition, you can get information about all devices integrated into the motherboard.
