A list of currently open windows for different programs is placed on the Windows taskbar. It also contains the "Start" button and "Notification area" - tray. The user can change the position of the panel at his discretion by moving it to any side of the screen. This operation is carried out so simply that sometimes it even happens without a person's desire, as a result of careless movement of the mouse. Fortunately, you can return the panel to the correct position in a matter of seconds.

Instructions
Step 1
Expand the context menu of the taskbar and make sure it is not docked in its current position. To open the menu, right-click on a space that is free of open window icons and any other elements on the panel. The context menu item you need is named so - "Pin the taskbar". If this line has a check mark, left-click on it to remove it. After that, it will be possible to move the panel by dragging.
Step 2
Move the mouse pointer over an empty space on the taskbar again and right-click and drag it to the bottom edge of the screen. Nothing will happen while you move - ignore it, it should be until you move the pointer close enough to the edge of the desktop. When you release the button and the panel is in its new position, lock it. To do this, open the context menu again and check the box next to the item "Dock the taskbar".
Step 3
In recent versions of Windows, you can move without dragging - all the controls necessary for such an operation are placed in the properties window of the taskbar. To call it, open the context menu and select the "Properties" item. A new window will open on the "Taskbar" tab, and the setting you need is placed in it in the "Taskbar design" section. Expand the drop-down list under the "Position of the taskbar on the screen" and select the line "Bottom".
Step 4
In the same window, you can set additional options for displaying the panel - for example, check the box "Automatically hide the taskbar" so that it falls off the bottom edge of the screen in an inactive state and pops up when you move the mouse pointer to this edge. The command for fixing the position of the panel is also duplicated here - the "Lock the taskbar" checkbox is placed in the first line of this section of the tab. When all the required settings are complete, click the OK button.
