Instructions
Step 1
Screen resolution is responsible for the legibility of displaying objects on the desktop. If you increase this parameter, the graphics will be sharper and smaller in size. If you reduce it, objects on the screen will appear larger and distorted. Resolution, measured in pixels, also depends on the monitor itself and its parameters. Each individual decides for himself at what size of the screen it will be more comfortable for him to work.
Step 2
To change the settings of the desktop (including the screen resolution), right-click on any unoccupied area of the desktop and select "Properties" (Fig. 1).
Step 3
In the "Properties: Display" window that appears, open the "Parameters" tab. Using the slider in the "Screen resolution" section, set the numbers you need and confirm your choice by pressing the "OK" button (Fig. 2).
Step 4
Change the position of the "Screen Resolution" slider to the left to decrease this parameter. As a result, the size of the images and the displayed text will increase. You can also move the "Screen Resolution" slider to the right in order to reduce the size of objects on the monitor.
Step 5
Perform this operation so many times so that you can understand what screen size will be optimal for you. Typically, for monitors with a diagonal of 17 and 19 inches, the resolution is set to 1280x1024. Please note that flat panel monitors only work correctly at one resolution. If you change the default display settings for a widescreen display, text may appear blurry.
Step 6
Click the "Apply" button for the new settings to take effect. After the "Monitor Settings" dialog box appears (Figure 3), pay attention to the screen. If you are satisfied with the result of changing the display settings, click the "Yes" button. Otherwise, click the "No" button and return to set other display sizes.
