A webcam is the right thing to communicate with users around the world. To do this, it is enough to have an Internet connection, a special program and a webcam itself connected to a computer. You will also need Skype, which is practically the standard for making calls over the Internet.

It is necessary

  • - Personal Computer;
  • - Webcam;
  • - disk with drivers for the webcam;
  • - Skype.

Instructions

Step 1

To connect your webcam, plug the USB cable coming from the webcam into a suitable USB port on your computer. You can use the USB port on both the back and front of the system unit.

Step 2

After that, be sure to install the software and drivers that came with the camera. The installation of programs and drivers itself is quite simple and standard: insert the disc from the camera into the drive, and when the installation wizard prompts you, follow the instructions on the screen. They usually boil down to accepting the license agreement and then clicking Next or Next.

Step 3

After finishing the installation of the programs and drivers supplied with the camera, start Skype. To test your webcam, make a test video call. To do this, click on the EchoTest test contact in the Skype window (in different versions of Skype it can be called differently) and make a video call by clicking the corresponding button. If everything is fine, then in the call status window on the right you will see your image, and you can also hear your voice after the robot girl asks to say something for verification.

Step 4

If there is no video or sound, restart your computer, open Skype again and in its settings check which device is used to capture video and sound. Specify your webcam in the settings if another device is selected there. Then repeat the test. Now everything should work as it should, if not, then try uninstalling and installing the drivers on the camera again, or contact the technical support of the webcam manufacturer.
