The curly braces {and} refer to basic characters and are found in almost all national code tables used by computer software. Therefore, problems with inserting them into documents are rare. However, sometimes it is still necessary to insert curly braces of a special style - for example, they should be independent of the size of the body text. In this case, you can use, for example, a text editor Microsoft Word.
It is necessary
text editor Microsoft Word 2007
Instructions
Step 1
Use the function to insert shapes into the document text if you want to be able to move curly braces around the document page regardless of its text. To do this, click the "Insert" tab in the top menu of the editor (on the "ribbon") and find in the "Illustrations" group of commands a drop-down list labeled "Shapes". Having opened the list, select in the section "Basic Shapes" the style of characters you need - there are three of them here. In addition to the left and right brackets, there is also a combined symbol composed of both brackets. Click on the desired option and the mouse cursor will change - it will become a black cross.
Step 2
Move the cursor to the desired place on the page, press the left mouse button and, without releasing it, move the mouse, giving the desired proportions to the created curly brace - it will be displayed as a dashed line during this procedure. When you release the mouse button, the editor will create a corresponding graphic object in the text and enable its editing mode. You will have the opportunity to adjust the proportions of the curly brace, change its color, background, add volume, set the rules for wrapping around it with the main text, etc.
Step 3
Another way to insert curly braces is more convenient when working with formulas. To use it, find on the same "Insert" tab the "Formula" drop-down list - it is placed in the rightmost group of commands ("Symbols"). Expand the list and select the "Insert New Formula" line. The editor creates a new object in the document and turns on the Formula Builder.
Step 4
Open the drop-down list labeled "Bracket" located in the "Structures" command group of the Formula Builder. Select the style you want from the list, and then enter the text between the curly braces. If it must be a formula, then use the formula editor to insert other special characters.
