Files with the djvu extension are, as a rule, e-books created from scanned pages of their paper version. This format is notable for the fact that it allows you to completely recreate the appearance of the book, including all drawings and photographs.
Instructions
Step 1
One of the simplest and most convenient programs for reading such books is, of course, Djvu Reader, because it does not require installation and is small in size. In order to read books using this program, go to the File menu, click Open and select any book with the Djvu extension.
Step 2
If you need more functionality, use WinDjvu. This program will already require installation and will have a lot more functions. So, for example, using it, you can leave bookmarks in places of interest and highlight fragments of the book, saving them in a convenient graphic format. You can open the necessary files in the same way as in Djvu Reader, but, most likely, after installing this program, all books with the djvu extension will open automatically, it will be enough to hover over them with the mouse cursor and double-click.
Step 3
You can also view djvu files directly in the browser. To do this, install the Djvu Browser Plugin program on your computer. It will be integrated into the browser, since this plugin is adapted for the most common products: Internet Explorer, Opera, Mozilla Firefox. After installing the Djvu Browser Plugin, it will be possible to run files with the djvu extension directly from the browser and use some additional functions using a special control panel.
Step 4
The mobile market also did not go unnoticed by the developers, and if you are the owner of an iPhone or iPod Touch, pay your attention to a program specially created for them - X Djvu. With this application, you will not only be able to read djvu files, but also load files of this format from electronic libraries without leaving the X Djvu interface.
