Installing additional emoticons in the agent is needed in order to expand the set of existing ones. Most ICQ clients support uploading new elements, so it won't take you too long to install emoticons.

Step 1
Find out the exact name of your program and its version. You can do this by launching it and clicking the View System Information button, or by opening the list of installed applications from the Start menu.
Step 2
Search the Internet for emoticons for your specific program. It is best to download emoticons from trusted sites, as many of them may contain malicious code or viruses.
Step 3
Unzip the set of emoticons you have downloaded, if required. If it is a regular folder with image files, copy all its contents using the right mouse button.
Step 4
Make sure beforehand that your client supports emoticons of this particular format, since some versions of the programs contain only regular static images as emoticons.
Step 5
Quit ICQ if necessary. Open your local disk, go to the directory with the name of the client you installed in Programm Files, find the folder with smiles and paste the contents of the downloaded folder there. Keep in mind that for some agents there is a separation of directories for animated emoticons and regular static ones.
Step 6
If you downloaded emoticons not as a folder with image files, but as an installer, then everything is much easier - just double-click the program with the right mouse button. However, before starting the emoticon installer, it is best to check the program with an antivirus with updated databases and an anti-Trojan.
Step 7
If no threats are found, then just install an additional set of smiles, specifying in the installer the directory where your program is located on your hard disk. If you need to restart the program, take the desired action.
Step 8
Check if you have completed the installation correctly. To do this, when you start your program, open a dialog box and click on the icon that opens a container with smilies.
