How do I trade games on Steam?
Game swap is a relatively new feature that allows you to swap one game for another. This feature allows you to save your own funds and play a different game. It should be noted that exchange is only possible between friends. In order to implement our plans, you need to launch the Steam client and log in with your username and password to your account. After that, you need to go to the "Friends" tab and find the person with whom you want to exchange content.
To the right of the friend's name is a small arrow that you should click on. An additional menu will open, where there is a button "Offer exchange". You can make an exchange directly from the chat, and the procedure is exactly the same. If your friend accepts the offer, a corresponding window will open. Here the user can view all items, games and coupons that can be exchanged.
After the item to be exchanged is found, it must be dragged from the inventory to the exchange window. If the wrong item is selected, then you just need to drag it back. After that, you need to click on the "Ready to exchange" button and wait until your friend accepts the offer. You can find out detailed information about the item in order to understand exactly what it is that needs to be exchanged. To do this, you just need to move the cursor over the object and all the information will appear. When you are completely sure, you need to click on the "Exchange" button. It is worth remembering that after this it will be impossible to interrupt or cancel the exchange.
Only certain items can be traded on Steam, these are gifts and games from the Steam service and items from certain games (Team Fortress 2, Portal 2, Spiral Knights). Perhaps in the future it will be possible to exchange other games from other developers. It should be noted that there are no regional restrictions on the transfer of gifts (if the game is sent as a gift).
