A wide variety of games for the Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) console are available for purchase and download via the PlayStation Network. Use the instructions below to download the game to your computer and install it on your PSP.
It is necessary
- USB to mini USB cable,
- Memory Stick Duo media.
Instructions
Step 1
Select and download the game from the PlayStation Network to your computer's hard drive, specifying the folder to download the file. Free demos can also be downloaded to try before purchasing. Once the download is complete, locate the downloaded game file on your personal computer.
Step 2
Insert the Memory Stick Duo - PSP memory stick - into the port on the lower left side of the console. The downloaded game will eventually be stored on the card, so make sure you have enough free space on the Memory Stick Duo. To do this, enter the Game menu and scroll to the Memory Stick item. The amount of free space will be displayed on the icon.
Step 3
Connect your PSP to your computer using a USB to mini USB cable.
Step 4
Turn on the console to communicate with the computer: Scroll down the drop-down menu on the left and select the USB Mode option. When this mode is enabled, a confirmation is displayed on the PSP screen that the console is in USB mode. You are now ready to download the game file from your computer to your gaming device.
Step 5
Open My Computer and double-click the icon for the PSP console, which the computer recognizes when the device is in USB mode. Open the PSP folder, then a folder called GAME. Just drag the desired PSP game or demo file from a folder on your computer to this folder. The download process may take several minutes, depending on how large the game file is.
Step 6
Unplug your PSP from your computer after the game has been downloaded to your PSP and remove the game console from USB mode. From the main Game menu, open the Memory Stick option and press the X button. You will see the downloaded file, accompanied by a small screenshot or video, ready to launch the game.
