Instructions

Step 1

If you have to work with a folder and its subfolder, configure the appropriate settings. Using the Start button or the Windows key, open Control Panel, select the Folder Options component in the Appearance and Themes category. Alternatively, open any folder and select "Folder Options" from the "Tools" menu. A new dialog box will open.

Step 2

Make sure you are on the General tab. In the "Browse folders" group, set the marker opposite the "Open each folder in a separate window". Apply the new settings and close the Folder Options window. Move the cursor to the first folder and left-click on its icon. Then repeat the step for the next folder.

Step 3

If the program provides for the simultaneous opening of several documents, each document will open in a new window. In this case, such a window will have control buttons "Minimize", "Maximize" and "Close". Use them in the same way as if you were working with folders. To open a document in the File menu, use the Open command as many times as there are files (documents) you want to open in the application.

Step 4

To run several applications or one program at the same time, click the icon (s) of the required application (s) as many times as necessary. If folders or programs are displayed expanded, use the keyboard shortcut alt="Image" and Tab to move between them.

Step 5

To minimize the window area, click in the upper right corner of the button in the form of two overlapping squares. In order to arrange windows on the monitor screen in such a way that it is convenient for you to work in them, move the cursor to the window title, press the left mouse button and, while holding it, drag the window to the area you need. Release the mouse button.

Step 6

To optimize the size of the window, move the cursor to one of its edges, when the cursor turns into a double-sided arrow, drag the window outline in the required direction while holding down the left mouse button. If you need to arrange the position of windows on the screen, right-click on the taskbar and select one of the options from the context menu: "Windows from top to bottom", "Cascade windows" and so on.
