Instructions

Step 1

Follow the steps below to disable scanning of the system disk. Click Start. Select All Programs, then Standard Programs. Among the standard programs is the "Command Line". Start it up.

Step 2

Next, at the command line, enter Chkntfs / X C, where C is the letter of the system drive. If your system drive has a different letter, then, accordingly, you need to register it. After entering the command, press the Enter key. Close Command Prompt. Now the automatic check of the system partition is disabled. In the same way, you can disable the automatic check of other hard disk partitions. Just at the end of the command, you should write the letter of the hard drive partition for which you want to disable scanning.

Step 3

Another way to disable checking is to edit the system registry branch. At the command prompt, enter regedit. In a second, the Registry Editor window will open. On its left side there is a list of the main registry keys. Find the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE section among them.

Step 4

Click on the arrow opposite the name of this section. Repeat the procedure near the SYSTEM subsection. Thus, open the sections in this order: CurrentControlSet / Control / Session Manager. You do not need to open the Session Manager, select it with the left mouse click.

Step 5

After selecting the last section, branches for editing will be available in the right window. Find a branch named BootExecute among them. Double-click on it with the left mouse button. Now it can be edited. All you need to do is add / K: C before the asterisk. Ultimately, the edited branch will look like this: autocheck autochk / k: C. Save your changes. After that, the disk check will be disabled.
