When the Windows operating system boots, some services and applications are automatically loaded. Sometimes this is convenient - you do not need to search for startup files in different folders yourself. But in certain cases it interferes with work. There are several ways to disable the autostart of unwanted programs at startup.

Instructions

Step 1

Run the program for which you want to disable automatic loading. Call its settings window in the menu and find the option responsible for autorun. It is often found on a tab with basic (general) parameters. Uncheck the box "Startup at Windows startup" and save the new settings by clicking OK or Apply.

Step 2

If there is no option to disable automatic loading through the application settings or there are too many programs in autostart, use another method. Open the Start menu and locate the Startup folder. Remove all unnecessary applications from it by right-clicking on each one and choosing the "Remove" command from the drop-down menu.

Step 3

There is also another option. Open the "My Computer" folder on the disk with the installed system, go to the Documents and Settings / Username / Main menu / Programs / Startup folder and remove the shortcuts of all unwanted programs. Applications will not load the next time you start Windows.

Step 4

The next way: open the "Run" window through the "Start" menu or the keyboard shortcut Win + R and enter the command msconfig in the field. A new window will open. Go to the "Startup" tab in it and remove the markers from the fields of unnecessary programs. Apply the new settings. Restart your computer if necessary.

Step 5

You can remove programs from startup and through the registry. In the Run window, type regedit and locate HKEY_CURRENT_USER / Software / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Run (for the current user) or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Run (for all users). Review the list and remove unnecessary application address lines.

Step 6

You can also use special programs such as CCleaner or Autoruns. In applications of this kind, it is possible with one click of the mouse to open the list of programs and services that are in startup. You will only have to mark the necessary / unnecessary applications with a marker or enable / disable them using the button provided for these purposes.
