The startup section is used to automatically start some services and the most important programs immediately after the start of the Windows operating system (OS). Some executable files can be managed using the standard msconfig manager or third-party applications.
Msconfig
To start the standard program, go to the "Run" section of the "Start" menu of the system. The utility is located in "Start" - "All Programs" - "Accessories" - "Run". In the dialog box that appears, enter the msconfig prompt and press the Enter key on the keyboard. An application for managing OS settings will start on the screen.
Go to the "Startup" tab of the top panel. You will be presented with a list of programs that are automatically launched at system startup. To delete the desired position, right-click and select the "Disable" option. The next time you restart your computer, the disabled program will not start. When you are finished making changes, you can close the msconfig window and continue working. The startup list check operation is complete.
In Windows 8, the manager for managing application startup parameters at startup is invoked by simultaneously pressing the Ctrl, alt="Image" and Del keyboard buttons. In the list of options provided, select Task Manager. Go to the "Startup" tab and disable unnecessary programs as described above.
Alternative programs
To edit the startup list, several alternative utilities can be used, which allow not only to disable unnecessary items, but also to delete them. Some applications also provide the ability to see hidden system positions that are not visible in msconfig. Among such programs, CCleaner can be noted, which offers functionality sufficient for most users. Ainvo Startup Manager allows you not only to exclude, but also to add the necessary entry to startup, as well as to check the compliance of the specified item with the executable file in the system. There are also equally effective Autoruns, Argente, Ashampoo StartUp Tuner and Starter.
Download a suitable manager from the developer's official website and install it according to the instructions on the screen. Run the application and check and remove unnecessary items through the interface. Disabling the required programs can be done both by using the function buttons and by means of the context menu called after pressing the right mouse button. You can restart your computer to apply the changes. If necessary, you can re-launch the startup manager to check the list of startup applications and remove additional items.
