In the process of working with the operating system, the system database grows. This is due to the large number of installed programs, sometimes not even necessary. An increase in the registry base leads to disk fragmentation, which leads to slow operation when the operating system requests a specific key from the Windows registry. To free up RAM when using the operating system, a method for clearing the startup list is used.

It is necessary

System utility MSConfig

Instructions

Step 1

If you load the startup list and look at all the items that are contained in it, then you can find some programs that do not have to be launched during the startup of the operating system. These programs include: any players, utilities for updating flash applications, add-ons to browsers and some programs, detectors of connected devices, etc. Consequently, more than half of the startup operating system that has been installed on the computer for more than six months can be safely removed.

Step 2

To remove unnecessary startup items, you can use the software that is responsible for displaying the startup list of your system. Now there are a large number of such programs. There are free programs, and there are paid ones. These 2 categories do not differ much in the functionality of the program. In order to see that there are many such programs, enter the phrase "Startup Manager" in any search engine.

Step 3

To edit the startup list, it is not necessary to download a specialized program. For any user, the system utility MSConfig will do. It is included with the Windows operating system. You can start it in the following way: click the "Start" menu - the "Run" item - enter "msconfig".

Step 4

The main program window will appear. Go to the Startup tab. In this tab, you have a list of programs that are launched together with the start of the operating system. Unselect the program items that you do not want to download. Click Apply.

Step 5

The program window will disappear. A new dialog box will appear stating that all changes will take effect only on reboots. You have 2 options to choose from:

- reboot (now enjoy fast loading of the operating system);

- exit without rebooting (postpone for later).
