Step 1
Regardless of the goals and tasks performed, a set of commands in programs similar to the command line is entered both in Latin letters and in Cyrillic. By default, for each such utility, the standard keyboard layout switching keys are used. there are no special hotkeys.
Step 2
For operating systems of the Windows family, there are two key combinations: Ctrl + Shift and Alt + Shift. You just need to select one of the proposed options to switch the layout on the command line. However, there are various programs that can complement the functionality of your system, such as Punto Switcher.
Step 3
In some cases, you may face the problem of switching the language in windowed applications. To solve this problem, you need to alternately use the left Alt + Shift (English layout) and right Alt + Shift (Russian layout). You can also change these settings by opening the Regional and Language Options applet.
Step 4
Open the "Start" menu and click on "Control Panel". In the window that appears, double-click on the Regional and Language Options icon. Go to the Languages tab and click the Details button. Then click the Keyboard Options and Change Keyboard Shortcuts buttons.
Step 5
In the "Additional keyboard settings" window that opens, change the keyboard shortcut for all layouts installed on the system. You can also set your own combination for each layout, which is not used by other programs. Highlight the required line, click the "Change combinations" button. Check the box "Use …" and select the desired keys. Then press the "OK" buttons several times.
Step 6
For operating systems of the Linux family, the same rule applies, but the number of options for keyboard shortcuts is much greater. To change keyboard shortcuts, you need to open the "System" menu, select the "Options" and "Keyboard" items. In the window that opens, click the "Options" button and expand the "Keys for changing the layout" list.
