The front panel of the computer system unit contains connectors for USB ports (Universal Serial Bus) and sockets for TRS connections (Tip, Ring, Sleeve). Both types of connectors can be used to connect headphones.

Instructions

Step 1

Start by installing the driver if you need to connect wireless headphones. In most cases, the operating system driver base is sufficient to dispense with user intervention. Insert the adapter or its connecting cable (depending on the model) into one of the free USB connectors on the front panel of the system unit. The OS will automatically detect a new device and try to find the driver required for its operation in its database. If the attempt is unsuccessful, you will see a corresponding message.

Step 2

Skip this step if the operating system correctly recognizes the connected adapter, or if you are unlucky, insert the software disc that came with the headphone kit into the optical disc reader. A menu should appear on the screen in which you need to select the option to install the driver. Then follow the instructions of the started installation wizard. At the end of the installation process, the operating system will try to connect the adapter with the new driver again.

Step 3

Install the batteries and turn on the power to the wireless headphones. This completes the connection procedure.

Step 4

If you need to connect ordinary wired headphones, then use the connectors for miniJack plugs (3.5 mm TRS) on the front panel of the system unit. There are two of them on this side of the case and each has its own color marking - the headphone jack, in addition to the corresponding icon, is marked in green. Insert the same colored plug of the headphone connecting cable into the socket. At the same time, the audio card driver installed in the system may display a dialog box in which you will need to confirm that the connected device is correctly detected by the system.
