Instructions
Step 1
Consider a situation where you need to partition a disk into logical disks before installing the operating system. This can be done using disks with Windows Vista or Seven operating systems.
Step 2
Insert the above disc into your optical drive. Restart your computer and press the Del button on your keyboard to enter the BIOS menu. Find Boot device priority and open it. Place the optical drive on the top line.
Step 3
Exit to the main menu and select the Save & Exit item. The computer will restart and run the operating system setup program.
Step 4
Follow the step-by-step installation instructions until a window appears with a list of local drives. In the lower right corner, find the "Disk Setup" button and click it. Left-click on the disk you plan to partition and press the "Delete" button.
Step 5
Click the "Create" button, set the file system and size of the future logical disk. Repeat this operation until you get the required number of disks. Proceed with the installation of the operating system.
Step 6
Now let's look at an example of partitioning a disk after installing Windows. Download and install the Partition Manager program. Reboot your computer.

Run the program and open the "Create Section" menu. In the next window, check the box next to the line "Mode for advanced users" and click "Next". Select the disk that you want to split into several parts and click the "Next" button.

Specify the size and format of the file system of the future partition. Please note that the original disk will not be formatted, therefore, you can create a new partition only from its free area.
Step 9
After completing the configuration of the future logical disk, click the "Apply" button. In the next window, select "Restart now". Now it remains only to wait for the completion of the process.
