Instructions
Step 1
First, perform a standard cleanup of the system partition of the hard drive. Press the key combination "Start" and E. Find the icon of the local drive C and click on it with the right mouse button. Go to the properties for this section and open the General tab.
Step 2
Click the Disk Cleanup button. Wait a while while the system prepares unused files for deletion. Click the Delete button when a new menu appears.
Step 3
Click the General tab again and uncheck the Allow files on this drive to be indexed option. Disable indexing for all other hard drive partitions in the same way.
Step 4
If your hard drive is not partitioned into local drives, be sure to create new partitions. Install Paragon Partition Manager. Run this utility after restarting your computer.
Step 5
Open the "Wizards" tab and select "Quick Create Section". Enter the size of the new volume (leave 15-20 GB on the system partition) and select the file system. Click the "Finish" button and wait for the return to the main menu "Programs". Click the Apply Pending Changes button.
Step 6
Now, in the same way, create a partition for the swap file. The size of this volume should be three times the amount of RAM installed on your computer. Use the FAT32 file system for this partition.
Step 7
Open the control panel and go to the "System" menu. Open the Advanced System Settings submenu. Click the "Options" button located under "Performance".
Step 8
Open the "Advanced" tab and click the "Change" button. Allocate a local disk for the paging file. Check the box next to "Set size" and enter the size of this volume. Press the "Set" and Ok buttons. Reboot your computer.
Step 9
Download Smart Defrag utility. Run it, select all available partitions of the hard drive. Click the Defragment button and select Defragment and Optimize. After the utility completes, restart your computer.
