A flash drive is a very convenient storage medium. Unlike discs, it is much better protected from mechanical damage. It is much faster and more convenient to write information to a flash drive. Moreover, it is much more functional. With its help, you can not only transfer information, but also open programs installed on a flash drive. This is very convenient, because you always have the necessary program with you, which can be opened on someone else's computer.
Necessary
Computer, flash drive, Alcohol 120% program, UNetbootin application, Internet access
Instructions
Step 1
The procedure for installing programs on flash drives and using them is slightly different from installing programs on a computer. When the program is installed on a flash drive, information is not only recorded, but also added to the device registry. Therefore, you will need to create a bootable USB flash drive (Live CD.)
Step 2
To write to a flash drive, the program must be recorded in the form of an image (ISO format). You can download programs from the Internet already as an ISO image or create such images yourself.
Step 3
To create an image, download the Alcohol 120% program and install it on your computer. After the first launch, it will create virtual drives. After that, the program menu will be available. Insert the disc with the program you want to burn to the flash drive. On the left in the Alcohol 120% window, click on the "Image Creation" line, then on the "Start" line. The application will create an ISO image of the program. Now this image needs to be written to a flash drive.
Step 4
Download and install the UNetbootin app. Start it up. Pay attention to the toolbar in the lower window of the running program. In the line "Disk Image" select ISO. To the right of the "File image" line, click the button and specify the path to the required file.
Step 5
Now in the "Type" line, select "USB Device", and in the "Media" line - the flash drive to which the program will be written, and then click OK. Wait until the end of the process of unpacking and installing the program. Now you can run the recorded program directly from the flash drive. To do this, you just need to insert the flash drive into your computer.
Step 6
If the program does not start from a flash drive, go to the BIOS profile and enable the ability to boot from a USB-drive (by default, it can be disabled on some motherboards). After enabling this function, you will be able to run programs from a flash drive.
