If you work with a laptop in different conditions (outdoors, in an office, in an apartment), for a better display of information on the screen, it is advisable to change the brightness of the monitor. This will allow on a sunny day not to strain your eyes, trying to see something on the screen, and in the office - to give your eyes a rest from the increased brightness of the image. Remember that increasing the screen brightness increases power consumption. Thus, the life of a laptop on a single battery charge is significantly reduced.
It is necessary
System change the brightness of the laptop monitor
Instructions
Step 1
In order to change the brightness value, you need to click the "Start" menu - select the "Control Panel" item - in the window that opens, select the "System and Security" section - the "Power supply" item. If your laptop supports software changing the brightness of the monitor, then in the window that opens you will see a slider, changing which leads to an increase or decrease in brightness.
Step 2
Moving the slider to the right will increase the brightness, and to the left, respectively, will decrease the brightness. If your laptop does not support this function (programmatically changing the brightness), the brightness of the monitor can be changed using the laptop function keys - Fn and the brightness icons, which are usually located on the keyboard arrows.
Step 3
To save more power and extend battery life, your operating system will automatically dim your monitor after a specified period of time. You can change the values of these parameters. They are set in the same window "Properties: Power supply". Also, in this window, you can configure the parameters not only for the battery mode, but also for the mains. After changing the laptop power settings, save the changes. After clicking on the "OK" button, these parameters will automatically change.
