Step 1
To completely remove all unnecessary files, use the Total Commander program. The program is not free, but it has a trial period of a month long, and then you can continue to use it, but you need to click on the button with the specified number when starting the program. This program includes a good FTP client. It allows you to manage the data that is on the server, i.e. we can delete unnecessary files.
Step 2
After starting the program, press the key combination Ctrl + F or click the FTP menu, then "Connect to FTP Server". In the window that opens, click the "Connect" button if the connection data was entered in advance. Otherwise, click the "Add" button and enter the data for connecting to the server. After successfully connecting to the server, go to the folder with pictures, by default - wp-content / upload.
Step 3
This folder contains many files, many can be deleted. To do this, click the "Selection" menu, then "Select group". You can also press the Num + key. With this action, we create a mask for deleting files of the same type. In the "Search for files" field, specify the x symbol (it is present in the file names). Click the "Burn" button, then specify a name for the template.
Step 4
After pressing the Num + button, select the newly created template. As a result, all files by the specified mask will be selected. Check all files to see if the template has captured the files you want. You only need to delete small files. It remains only to click on the Delete button and wait for the end of the operation.
