Step 1
Examine the packaging of your laptop carefully. Each laptop is sold in a special packaging from the manufacturer, which often indicates the year of manufacture, or Manufactured Year. Typically, this information is always printed on the front. It is also worth considering that all information can be contained on a special pasted label.
Step 2
Look for the combination of symbols with the MFG code on the package. Typically, this parameter contains two digits for the year of the product and two digits for the month of manufacture. That is, if you have MFG: 0912, then your laptop was produced in the 12th month of 2009. Review the documents on the laptop - instructions, warranty card and others. Some manufacturers indicate the date of manufacture in the documentation.
Step 3
Go to laptop BIOS. To do this, press immediately after turning on the laptop F2, Del or Esc on the keyboard (depending on the model). The BIOS version is often listed with the year of issue. Alternatively, load the default settings - the date that the program will restore at the same time indicates the release date of the laptop.
Step 4
Contact the manufacturer's service center. Many service centers can use the serial number or product number to tell you the year the notebook was manufactured. It is quite difficult to find an old laptop model on sale in a regular hardware store. Immediately after the release of new models, the old ones are withdrawn from production and gradually go out of sale. This also has its disadvantage - a once liked, successful model of equipment cannot be bought over time.
Step 5
You can also look at the relevant information on the Internet to find out the approximate production date. There is no specialized software that allows you to find out the year of manufacture of a laptop.
