Today, there are a large number of devices designed to collect and store information: floppy disks, CDs, various removable drives that are already a thing of the past. One of these devices is a removable USB drive or simply a USB flash drive. Like any other device connected to a personal computer, flash drives are susceptible to infection by computer viruses. The malicious program infiltrates the USB flash drive while writing infected files. As a result, there is a danger of infecting other computers or devices to which you plan to connect the infected USB flash drive

Step 1
You can clear the USB flash drive from viruses by connecting it to any computer on which antivirus software is installed. First, make sure that the license of the antivirus installed on your computer has not expired.
Step 2
The antivirus program must be kept up to date, since computer viruses are modified almost weekly, and new viruses appear with enviable regularity. If the antivirus program has not been updated for a long time, it may not recognize the virus.
Step 3
Connect the USB flash drive to the computer using a special cable or USB connector on the back or front panel of the system unit. Depending on the configuration, anti-virus programs can start scanning any new hardware without prompting for user commands.
Step 4
Wait a few seconds, perhaps your antivirus will start checking the flash drive itself. If this does not happen, give the antivirus a command to check the USB flash drive and clean it of viruses. The easiest way to do this: open "My Computer", right-click on the flash drive icon and select "Check selected files with …" followed by the name of the antivirus program installed on your computer.
Step 5
During the scan, there are two options for cleaning the flash drive: either the antivirus is configured in such a way that it will remove all detected viruses, or it will report on the detected viruses and prompt for user commands. To clear the flash drive, click "Delete" or "Disinfect", in both cases the flash drive will be cleared.
