Step 1
Prepare all the necessary tools for connecting the connector. Without fail, you need a crimping pliers. Without them, only professional network masters can perform crimping.
Step 2
Buy a network cable, usually referred to as a twisted pair cable, because it has eight wires twisted in pairs. Well, be sure to stock up on a large number of connectors, because, as practice shows, it is not always possible to connect them the first time.
Step 3
Strip the crimped end of the network cable. It is enough to remove about one centimeter of the shell. Be careful not to damage the wiring itself. Separate them and straighten them. Then arrange them by color. The most common combination is: white with orange - orange - white with green - blue - white with blue - green - white with brown - brown. In some cases, depending on your router or modem, the combination may be different. You can clarify this by reading the operating instructions for the device.
Step 4
Insert the wires according to the colors into the connector. Place the connector itself in the crimper and squeeze the handle. As a result, the metal contacts will be bent inside the wires, while the occasion will be securely wrapped around the plastic fasteners.
Step 5
Gently tug on the cable to make sure it is securely attached. Perform a crimping operation on the other side of the twisted pair. In this case, the wiring is connected to the connector in the mirrored position of the colors.
Step 6
Connect one end of a network cable to your modem or router and the other to your computer and set up a network connection. If you are connecting two computers, the color order in the connector will be different. In this case, the combination will be as follows: white-orange - orange - white-green - blue - white-blue - green - white-brown - brown. The second connector is connected through a crossover combination in which the outer and inner pair are crossed.
