Step 1

Overheating of the laptop, shutdown, warm air coming from the ventilation hole - apart from infrequent physical breakdowns and software glitches caused by installing, for example, inappropriate drivers, all these are signs of clogging and contamination of the fan in the laptop. Before disassembling the laptop, refer to the appropriate disassembly procedure in the repair manual. You can download it from the manufacturer's website.

Step 2

The location of the fan in a laptop depends on its design. Sometimes they are specially placed under a special cover on the underside of the computer. In this case, access to it is facilitated. However, much more often, in order to clean the fan in a laptop, you have to disassemble almost the entire computer with your own hands. Therefore, if you are not confident in your abilities, contact a specialized service with this problem.

Step 3

If you feel confident, grab a small watch screwdriver and start disassembling. In cases where cleaning from dust becomes a laborious and time-consuming procedure. To gain access to the fan, you have to proceed in the following order:

1. Remove the battery

2. Remove the back cover

3. Remove the hard drive

4. Remove the optical disc drive

5. Disconnect and pull out the keyboard

6. Disconnect the display wires and remove the display itself

7. Remove the front cover.

Step 4

Then you can easily clean the fan in your laptop. However, in addition to the cooler itself, do not forget to also clean the air outlet grill, the accumulated dust on which is the cause of the computer overheating. Assembling the laptop should be done in reverse order.
