Step 1

Check if your modem is in the list of devices visible by the system. To do this, go to "My Computer", right-click on the space free of icons, select "Properties". You will see a small window with several tabs, select "Hardware" and click on the "Device Manager" button.

In the list of equipment you have that appears, see if there is a modem there. If you don't find it there. This means that drivers are simply not installed on it.

Insert the motherboard or modem software disc (if available separately) into the drive. Open the "Control Panel", select the menu item "Hardware Installation". In the window that opens, search for devices connected to the computer. After that, the Add Hardware Wizard will give you a list of the hardware found. Select your built-in modem in it, click on "Install software".

Step 4

Select the installation from the specified location and then use the "Browse" button to specify the path to the disk with the drivers. Install the software, restart your computer, and check for hardware in Device Manager. Please note that some models of modems require the installation of special programs for their further configuration, it is best to read additional information on the Internet specifically about your device.

If you were unable to install the software on the internal modem using the driver disc, try choosing to install the hardware over the Internet. To do this, run the Add Hardware Wizard, allow it to connect to the network and automatically search for and install the driver on your hardware. After that, also check if the internal modem is displayed in the manager list.
