Most modern laptops are shipped with the operating system already installed and are ready to go right after the first turn. But it may happen that the preinstalled system does not suit you, or the laptop was sold at all without any reference to a specific OS, in which case you will have to do the installation of the system on the laptop yourself.

Step 1
In general, installing the system on a laptop is no different from installing the system on a personal computer. The only exception can be a situation when a laptop, by virtue of its design, is not equipped with a CD drive, and you cannot use a regular installation disc. You won't be able to insert a bootable CD into such a laptop; instead, you will have to use a bootable USB flash drive. A USB flash drive can be easily made on any computer that can read disks and write data to removable storage media.
Step 2
Regardless of the media from which you will install the operating system into the laptop, set the parameters in the BIOS so that the laptop starts booting from the media on which you have the system installation file. After the file starts, specify the partition of the hard drive where you would like to see the laptop OS in the future. If the laptop has only one hard drive, then it is better to split it into two parts before installing it during the formatting process. In this case, one of the logical drives will be working, and on the second you can store files without fear of losing them in the event of an operating system crash. When installing the OS, you need to follow the prompts on the screen and enter all the necessary data requested during the installation process. After a while, the system will be installed, and you will see the user welcome screen.
Step 3
But take your time. It is quite possible that your laptop will also need to install drivers - special mini-programs that ensure the correct operation of the components of the laptop. All the necessary drivers can be found on the special disk attached to the laptop, and if there is no such disk, then you should look at the manufacturer's website. Each manufacturer lays out several driver options for each model, which one suits you best, you decide for yourself, based on the installed operating system. After installing the system and drivers, your laptop is ready to work, and you can customize it for yourself by choosing the necessary additional programs and applications.
