Drivers ensure the stable operation of your computer's system, and if you still do not have drivers installed on your laptop, we recommend fixing it as soon as possible. In this article, we will tell you how to properly install drivers on a laptop on a Windows operating system.
Instructions
Step 1
First, download the driver kits you need from the Internet. Install the chipset drivers first.
You need to download the chipset driver depending on who is the manufacturer of your processor - Intel, AMD or nVidia. Download the correct driver, install it and restart the system for the changes to take effect.
Step 2
Then install the video card driver. Determine the type of graphics card that is installed in the laptop - check the technical documentation or determine the model by the type of processor. In laptops based on Intel, the video card can be either ATI or nVidia, as well as an integrated video card from Intel. In AMD-based laptops, video cards are installed by ATI and nVidia. Install the exact graphics card model.
Step 3
Find the downloaded video driver and run the installation, then restart the system again. If you are installing drivers on ATI Radeon, first download and install Microsoft. NET Framework 2.0 for stable and correct operation of the drivers.
Step 4
Now start installing the sound card drivers. Check which sound card you have in Device Manager or laptop documentation. Most often this is the built-in Synaptics sound card. Install the driver and restart your computer.
Drivers for the touchpad are installed in a completely similar way, but in most cases the touchpad will work without them.
Step 5
Next, determine the manufacturer of your Ethernet controller, find the appropriate driver among the downloaded drivers and start the installation. If your laptop is based on Intel with an nVidia chipset, this step is not necessary - the Ethernet drivers are installed along with the chipset drivers.
Then install the drivers for the Wi-Fi device and card reader, having previously installed their models and manufacturers. Install the modem driver.
Step 6
Install drivers for TV tuner and web camera if necessary. Having installed the driver for your camera model, you can download and install an additional program for the camera, which will add convenience in working with it.
Step 7
There is a critical driver for Acer notebooks, without which they cannot work correctly. The utility you need is called Launch Manager, and if you have Acer, do not forget to download and install it, and then reboot.
Step 8
Finally, determine if your laptop supports Bluetooth. If you have an adapter, find information about the adapter model and download the driver for it. Then start bluetooth and install the driver.
