Instructions

Step 1

The text format is characterized by different parameters: italic and bold, underline, color, superscript, recessed text, and so on. To completely clear the text format, open the Home tab. Select the desired fragment, find the "Font" section on the toolbar and click on the "Clear format" button in it. It looks like an eraser and two letters "A" - uppercase and uppercase.

Step 2

If you have applied any effects to the text, you can remove them using the buttons on the toolbar. For example, if you position the cursor on any part of an italicized word, the button with the letter "K" will be highlighted on the toolbar on the "Home" tab in the "Font" section. Select the text you need, click on the "K" button with the left mouse button - this text format will be canceled.

Step 3

In the case when you have already cleared the format of a certain piece of text and want other lines (paragraphs) to look the same, you can use the "Format by Sample" button. It is also located on the "Home" tab. Find the "Clipboard" section. Select a piece of text that will serve as a sample, and click on the button in the form of a paint brush. The cursor will change its appearance. Select with the mouse the piece of text that you want to change.

Step 4

The format of the document is also determined by the selected style. In particular, the presence or absence of spacing between paragraphs can be determined by it. To change the style of the document and return to a more familiar look for you, open the "Home" tab and find the "Styles" section. You can choose a specific style from the available thumbnails. If this option does not suit you, click in the "Styles" section on the button in the form of an arrow below the line. In the context menu, select the "Clear Format" command.

Step 5

You can also clear the format in another way. Select a piece of text and open the "Font" or "Paragraph" dialog box. Remove the markers from those fields that define the text format and apply the new settings by clicking OK. The "Paragraph" and "Font" windows can be called from the "Home" tab or by right-clicking on the selected text.
