At the end of the main work on creating the server, the stage of placing it on the Internet begins. For this, there are special services - hosters that provide the necessary services for round-the-clock connection of the server to the network.
Instructions
Step 1
Register the domain name of the server. Second-level domains include two parts, and third-level domains, respectively, three parts. All owners of second-level domains have the ability to create third-level domains, which is why it is often provided by free hosting.
Step 2
Determine how much disk space will be needed for the project before submitting the site to the hosting server. After choosing suitable traffic and paying for it (if you plan to host your site on paid hosting), start installing the site on hosting.
Step 3
Try to install the server on hosting using an FTP client, for example, through the TotalCommander program. FTP is a data transfer protocol: it allows you to transfer, copy and upload data to the Internet.
Step 4
Install the TotalCommander application on your personal computer and launch it to connect to the server via FTP. Find the button "Connect to FTP server" in the toolbar and click on it. You will see a window in which you need to click on the "Add" button, after which the "FTP connection settings" will start.
Step 5
Specify the required information in the fields "Account", "Server", "Login" and "Password". Check the "Passive exchange mode" box. Click OK and return to the FTP Server Connection tab.
Step 6
Click on the "Connect" button to connect to the hosting server. The window that will appear on the screen will contain two columns: the left with the files located on your computer, and the right with information on the hosting. To copy files to the server from a PC, simply drag them to the opposite column.
Step 7
Set up the server for hosting using an FTP-enabled browser, such as Internet Explorer, which has a simple and intuitive folder interface. In addition, you can do this through the hosting control panel.
