Step 1
If you do not want to conclude and pay several contracts with the provider in order to connect all computers and laptops to the Internet at the same time, then purchase a Wi-Fi router. Select equipment that has a DSL or WAN connector, depending on the type of Internet connection.
Step 2
Install the Wi-Fi router in the desired location and connect it to AC power. Turn on this device. Connect the ISP cable to its WAN (DSL) connector. Select the mobile or desktop computer from which you will configure the router. Connect these devices using a network cable that must be plugged into any LAN port.
Step 3
Turn on the selected computer and launch an Internet browser. Enter the IP address of the router into it, having previously specified its value in the instructions. Enter your login and password to gain access to the web-based interface of the equipment.
Step 4
Open the WAN menu and configure its parameters. Specify the data provided to you by the provider, having previously selected the required data transfer protocol. Enable NAT and DHCP functions. Save your internet connection parameters.
Step 5
Go to the Wireless (Wi-Fi) menu. Create your own access point. To do this, select the type of security and the radio transmission channel. Better to use relatively new wireless settings. Enter a password to prevent unwanted connections to your router. Save your Wi-Fi hotspot settings.
Step 6
Reboot this device. If this cannot be done programmatically, then disconnect it from the mains for a few seconds. Connect mobile computers to a Wi-Fi network. Connect the stationary PCs to the LAN ports of the network equipment. Check your internet connection.
