When using a mobile phone as a GPRS modem, several connection types can be created. Usually, either a cable connection or a connection via a BlueTooth channel is selected.

Instructions
Step 1
First, select the type of connection between your mobile phone and your computer or laptop. In the case of the second equipment, it is better to use the BlueTooth network, provided that the laptop has a built-in BlueTooth adapter. If this is not possible, then make a direct connection using a USB cable.
Step 2
Now download and install the program designed to configure the synchronization of a mobile phone with a computer. These utilities are usually called PC Studio (Samsung) or PC Suite (Nokia and Sony Ericsson). Restart your computer to complete the installation of the selected application.
Step 3
Now start the PC Suite program and wait for the connection with your mobile phone. If, after making a connection, a menu appears on the phone screen with a choice of its operating mode, then activate the "Modem" or PC Suite function. If you select the "USB storage" operating mode, you may have problems using your phone as a modem.
Step 4
Open the "Internet Connection" menu and configure it. The settings for the computer program do not differ from the settings for the mobile phone itself. It all depends only on your operator. Save your Internet connection settings and click the "Connect" button.
Step 5
Wait while the program connects to your operator's server. Launch your internet browser and check if your internet connection is active. Minimize the program window, but do not close it.
Step 6
To save traffic and increase the speed of opening web pages, it is recommended to use special applications, or configure your browser. First, open your browser settings and turn off the "Automatically upload image" feature. Usually, it is these elements that greatly slow down the loading of pages. Install Traffic Compressor and enable it when connected to the Internet.
