To connect your computer to the Internet via a telephone line, you must use a DSL modem or router. It is recommended to stop the choice on the second option in the case when you need to connect several devices at once.

Instructions
Step 1
Select your DSL router. If you plan to connect laptops or smartphones that work with Wi-Fi to the Internet, then purchase equipment that supports the option of creating a wireless network.
Step 2
Plug your DSL router into an electrical outlet. Locate the DSL connector on the equipment and connect it to the telephone line. It is recommended to use a splitter to make this connection. This device separates the high and low frequencies on the line, thereby reducing the level of interference.
Step 3
To set up your DSL router, connect this equipment to your laptop or desktop computer. To do this, use a network cable to connect the Ethernet (LAN) connector of the router to the network adapter of your computer. Launch the browser on the selected PC or laptop.
Step 4
Open the instructions for your DSL router. Find the IP address that was originally assigned to it. Enter its value into the address bar of the browser and press the Enter key. The display will show the web interface of the equipment settings.
Step 5
To set up a connection to the provider's server, go to the WAN menu. Set the required type of data transfer protocol, enter the login and password required for authorization on the server. Configure advanced network parameters such as Firewall, DHCP and NAT support. Save the settings for this menu.
Step 6
Now go to the Wi-Fi menu (Wireless Settings). Create a wireless access point. Please note that the settings for this network must meet the requirements of the wireless adapters for mobile phones and laptops. Save your wireless settings.
Step 7
Reboot your DSL router. Make sure your internet connection is active. Connect your computer to the LAN (Ethernet) port and wireless devices to a Wi-Fi hotspot.
