When setting up routers to create a home network, sometimes you have to independently configure individual ports and set routes for specific devices. This is necessary for the correct IP-TV connection or setting up access to DC ++ or ftp clients.

Instructions
Step 1
If you are using a Zyxel router, enter in the address bar of your Internet browser https://192.168.1.1 and press the Enter key. Now click on the Wizard Setup button and start setting up a connection to the provider's server
Step 2
Fill in the fields of the menu that opens as follows:
Mode - Routing;
Encapsulation - PPPoE (L2TP);
Multiplex - at the provider's choice;
VPI and PCI - similar to Multiplex.
Step 3
Now click the Next button. Enter the username and password provided to you by your ISP. Set the Obtain IP Address Automatically option. Be sure to activate the Nailed-UP Connection item. Select one of the operation modes of the NAT function. It is better to activate SUA Only if the provider does not require another parameter.
Step 4
Click the Next button. Now enter your router's internal IP address and subnet mask. Activate the DHCP function. Now click the Next and Finish buttons. The connection setup at this stage is completed.
Step 5
Now reboot the router by unplugging it from the mains for a while and open the Advanced Setup menu. Go to NAT. Examine the contents of the Routing Table that opens. Change the values of existing fields or add a new route. Be sure to include both ports and the IP address of the device for which these ports are open.
Step 6
To avoid problems connecting certain devices to these ports, set them to static (permanent) IP addresses. This can be done even when the DHCP function of the router is active. Be sure to specify the IP of the router as the default gateway.
Step 7
If you need to open ports for all network devices at once, turn off the DHCP function by opening the LAN item, which is located in the Advanced Setup menu. After that, be sure to give each computer its own static IP address.
