If you have a Counter Strike server installed, then you know that its normal launch leads to the consumption of a large amount of resources. Therefore, you can use an alternative way of launching - using the console.
It is necessary
- - a computer;
- - Counter Strike server.
Instructions
Step 1
Create a shortcut to the hlds.exe file. This file is usually located in the following path: C: / Program Files / Valve. Right click on it and select "Create Shortcut".
Step 2
Next, call the context menu on the shortcut, select the "Object" field, after the path to the executable file, enter the following sentence in order to start the server through the console: -game "Game name" -console -insecure + maxplayers "Enter the maximum number of players on the server" + sv_lan 1 + port “Enter port” + map “Enter the name of the map from which the server is launched from the console. The console property means console mode.
Step 3
Use the HLDS Console app. This program will make it easier to start the server in console mode. Download it from the following link https://makeserver.ru/engine/download.php?id=428 or from any similar thematic site. Wait for the download to complete and copy the program file to the folder with the Counter Strike server installed. Then run it to configure the CS server to start.
Step 4
Set the server startup settings in the program window. In the field "Game" from the list, select the name of the game - Counter Strike. In the next field, enter the name of your server. Then select the map to start the launch with, or you can select the "Random map" checkbox.
Step 5
Then select the type of server, for example, "Internet" or "Local network", enter your server IP address. In the next field, enter a value for the maximum number of players. Next, enter the port.
Step 6
If necessary, set the Rcon password and check the "Protection" boxes to enable the built-in anti-cheat. Also check the "Run minimized" box so that after starting the server will be immediately minimized to the system tray. Select the server startup priority "High" and click "Start".
