A sound card is the hardware that your computer needs to play music. You can see what kind of sound card you have installed in the "Device Manager". To do this, follow these steps.

Step 1
Click the "Start" button in the lower left corner of the screen.
Step 2
Right-click on the Computer component. In the drop-down menu, select the "Properties" item. The "System" console will open in front of you.
Step 3
On the left side pane of the window, click on the "Device Manager" link. A window will open in front of you, with a list of all equipment installed on the computer.
Step 4
Find the category “Sound, video and game controllers”. Click the plus sign next to it to expand it.
Step 5
The line with the name of the equipment, which contains the word "Audio" and is the name of your sound card.
A typical line with the name of a sound card looks like this: "Realtek High Definition Audio".
To view the detailed information about it, right-click on the name and select "Properties".
