In addition to booting from a hard disk and CD, almost any computer can be started from a USB flash drive. This boot method can be used when the main operating system is infected with a virus.
It is necessary
PEBuilder program and disk
Instructions
Step 1
First you need to prepare a USB flash drive from which the computer will start. The flash drive must have a volume of at least 256 megabytes. To create a Live version of Windows, you need the PEBuilder program and a disk containing the operating system distribution kit. After launching the program, select the path to the disk with the distribution kit in the main window. The program will copy all necessary files and necessary drivers by itself. If you wish, you can add additional files to the assembly, such as antivirus or CD-burning software. Having decided on the composition of the compilation, click the "Create Assembly" button. The assembly will be saved in a separate file.
Step 2
Install and run the PE2USB program. Insert the USB stick. Select the path to the created assembly in the main program window and click the "Start" button. Windows Live will be written to the USB stick. Now it will be possible to run a copy of Windows from it, which has very limited functionality, but allows you to solve problems associated with viruses and incorrect system settings.
Step 3
Insert the flash drive into the USB port, turn on the computer and enter the BIOS. Depending on the computer model, the BIOS is entered by pressing one of the function keys (F1 - F12). Find the "Boot options" tab in the BIOS. Adjust the boot queue so that the USB Flash Drive is the first in the queue. Save changes and exit BIOS. After that, Windows should boot from the USB stick.
