Step 1
Correctly formulate your request: for example, "data recovery from hard drive" or "external hard drive is not detected", "computer does not see the USB flash drive", etc.

Try to remember under what circumstances the data was lost: you formatted the USB flash drive, dropped the hard drive, or the drive began to work very slowly at first, and then stopped being detected on any computer. If you have a RAID array, remember its approximate configuration: RAID0, RAID1, RAID10, RAID5, RAID6, how many members were in the array, were there any HotSpare disks, etc.

Find out if the laboratory (and the data is restored in laboratory conditions) has the necessary equipment: a clean room, laminar flow hoods, hardware and software systems. It is impossible to qualitatively restore data without such equipment, and no one can bring it to your home.
A serious data recovery lab is sure to have all of the above, although it comes at a cost.
