A computer user is sometimes faced with a situation where the computer starts to work too slowly. To determine the cause of this, the first step is to know how the processor resources are being used.

Instructions

Step 1

There are several ways to determine the processor load. The easiest one: open the Task Manager (Ctrl + alt="Image" + Del), at the bottom of the window you will see data on the processor load.

Step 2

It is sometimes useful to know which programs are loading the processor. In the Task Manager there is a graph "CPU", it displays the necessary data. If you do not have this column, select the "View" tab in the Task Manager menu, in it "Select Columns". Check the box next to "CPU utilization" and click "OK".

Step 3

In many cases, it is useful to have information about the processor load in front of your eyes at all times. This can be done using some programs - for example, the program "Everest" (aka "Aida 64"). This is one of the best programs that gives out almost all possible information about the computer.

Step 4

Install the Everest software, then configure it. Select File - Preferences. In the "General" tab, select: "Load Everest at Windows Startup". Uncheck "Show splash screen when starting Everest". Check the boxes "Minimize button minimizes the window to the system tray" and "Close button minimizes the window to the system tray". In the same place in the menu "When starting Everest" select "Hide main window (hide in the system tray)". Click OK.

Step 5

In the system tray, you will see a series of numbers, these are the readings of the sensors displaying the CPU fan voltage, hard disk, GPU and CPU temperatures. Double-click any of them, the settings window will open. In them, you can remove unnecessary data and add those that you need. To add CPU utilization, check the "CPU utilization" checkbox. Click the "Settings" button at the bottom, select the desired background and text colors for the icons. Click OK. Information about the percentage of CPU usage will appear in the tray and will always be in front of your eyes.

Step 6

You can find out the processor load and get a lot of other useful information about your computer using the AnVir Task Manager program. The program displays information about CPU load, disk load and memory usage in the system tray. With its help, you can also track running processes and current connections to the Internet.
