If one of your computers has a network card with multiple LAN ports, then you can connect both of these PCs to the Internet at the same time. To do this, you need to correctly configure the parameters of the network cards.
It is necessary
- - patch cord;
- - network cards.
Instructions
Step 1
Purchase a reversible network cable. When working with modern network adapters, you can use almost any LAN cable format, but it is cross-over that is recommended for direct connection of two computers. Connect the connectors of this cable to the network cards of different computers.
Step 2
Turn on the first computer and wait for the operating system to load. Go to the list of active network connections. This item can be accessed through the Start menu or from the Network and Sharing Center.
Step 3
Find the icon of the connection with the second computer and open the properties of this connection. Select the "Internet Protocol TCP / IP" item with the left mouse button. Click the Options button to open the Settings dialog box.
Step 4
Find the "IP address" field and enter the value of the permanent address of this network adapter, for example 48.69.34.1. Click the Apply button and wait for the network settings to update. Press the Ok button to close the menu.
Step 5
Open the Internet connection settings menu. Select the submenu "Access". Activate the use of this connection for all computers that are part of your home LAN. Save the parameters.
Step 6
Turn on the second computer and go to the list of network connections. Open the NIC settings dialog as described in the third step. Enter a static IP address which will be 48.69.34. X.
Step 7
Press the Tab key twice and enter 48.69.34.1 (the IP address of the first computer) in the Default gateway field. Click the Apply button and wait while the new network connection settings are applied.
Step 8
Check the ability to connect to internet servers from a second PC. Remember that synchronous access to the Internet can only be carried out if the first computer is turned on.
