Instructions

Step 1

Let's start by looking at an example of connecting multiple local drives into one using the Windows Seven operating system installer. Start the installation process for this OS in the standard way. Insert the disc, turn on the computer, select your floppy drive as the main device at startup. Select the installation language and operating system version.

Step 2

The screen will display a menu with a list of local drives on which you want to install the OS. Click the Disk Setup button. Select one of the sections to be merged and click the "Delete" button. Do the same with the second disc. Now click the "Create" button. Select the file system type of the future disk (NTFS or FAT32), set the maximum possible size for it.

Step 3

Proceed with the installation of the operating system, or complete this process if another operating system is already installed on this computer or laptop.

Step 4

Despite the simplicity of operations, this method has one significant drawback - information from both sections being merged will be deleted. To avoid this, use a special utility.

Step 5

Download and install the Partition Manager program. Choose the version that is most suitable for your operating system. Most versions of the program are easy to find on the Internet.

Step 6

Run the program and enable Power User Mode. Open the "Wizards" tab located on the program toolbar. Select the item "Additional actions" and click on the sub-item "Combining sections".

Step 7

Select several local disks (at least two) that you want to merge into one. Click "Next". On the main toolbar, find the Apply button and click it.

Step 8

If one of the connected partitions is a system partition, then the program should continue to work in DOS mode after reboot.
