Editing a video clip is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance. To edit a clip at an amateur level, you only need the source video and the program in which you will edit it. For editing, you can use professional programs (for example, Adobe Premiere), but they require specific knowledge, so for a start it will be enough to download a simple program for creating clips or not install anything at all and use the built-in Windows Movie Maker program. How do I use it?

Instructions

Step 1

Open Movie Maker. Load the source video files from which you want to edit the clip into the open program ("Import Video" function). To add an audio track to a clip, select the desired audio file in a supported format, and, using the audio import, load it into the timeline, placing it on a separate audio track next to the storyboard. Along with the new sound, you can keep the original sound of the video, or turn it off.

Step 2

Place your video files on the storyboard track. Add new frames to the right of the previous ones and thus create a chain of frames. Critically review each frame - trim out unnecessary if necessary, and also take advantage of additional visual effects of transitions between frames, beautiful shading and fading of the image, effects of aged or black and white film, and so on.

Step 3

Press the Play button periodically to see what you get, then continue editing the clip. Add titles in separate frames at the end, and a title at the beginning (to do this, open the section "Creating titles and titles").

Step 4

When the clip is ready, click the "Save" button and save it in the desired format on your computer.

Step 5

Also, in the process of creating a clip, do not forget about the principles of correct editing. Do not be afraid to crop out extra frames - only carefully selected moments should be present in the clip, supporting the main plot or the atmospheric line of the clip. Do not over-lengthen the clip - it should be no longer than five to seven minutes.
