In the Windows operating system, there are several ways to accomplish the same operation. If the user needs to turn off or restart the computer, there are also different ways to do this.
Instructions
Step 1
To shut down your computer, press the Start button or the Windows key on your keyboard. Select the "Shutdown" item, in the window that appears, click on the "Shutdown" command with the left mouse button. This method is considered correct. To reboot (restart) the computer, again use the "Shutdown" command in the "Start" menu, in the window that appears, select the "Restart" option.
Step 2
If you want to end the session of one user and restart the system to work under a different account, select the "Logout" item from the "Start" menu, in the new window select the "Change user" command. You will be taken to the welcome window, where you will need to select another account and (if necessary) enter a password.
Step 3
The above methods of shutting down and restarting the system are also possible through the "Task Manager". To call it, press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl, alt="Image" and Del. Another option: right-click on the "Taskbar", in the drop-down menu, select "Task Manager". In the top menu bar "Dispatcher" select "Shutdown". In the drop-down menu, select the command that you need. You can also reboot the system by pressing the key combination Ctrl, alt="Image" and Del again.
Step 4
If the computer stops responding (“frozen”), use the Reset button located on the front of your computer case. Unlike the Power button, it is small, so you won't confuse it with the Power button even if the buttons are not labeled.
Step 5
In some cases, in order to restart your computer, you may need to turn it off completely first. If none of the described shutdown methods helps (including pressing the Power button on the computer case), find the toggle switch on the back of the system unit and set it to Off. After that, put it back on the On state and turn on the computer in the usual way.
