If a black spot appears on your LCD monitor after an impact, it most likely means that the matrix is damaged. It is best in this case to contact a specialist to accurately determine the problem and to further fix it. However, the replacement of this part is also possible at home.
It is necessary
- - new matrix;
- - flat and Phillips screwdriver.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare your work surface so that nothing can scratch the monitor screen and so that you do not lose small parts. Disconnect the laptop from the power source and remove the battery from the compartment.
Step 2
Remove the monitor frame. To do this, unscrew all fasteners visible to you. Please note that very often manufacturers use special plugs so that they do not spoil the appearance of the laptop. Remove them by gently prying them off with a thin screwdriver.
Step 3
Remove the monitor case, be extremely careful, do not use special force to separate its parts. Please note that some Apple and Sony models use special glue to hold laptop parts together. In this case, parsing it at home will be impossible.
Step 4
Detach the metal brackets holding the laptop monitor. Disconnect the connection cables holding them by the bases. Remove the matrix by unscrewing all available fasteners. There can be about 4-8 of them, depending on the diagonal of the monitor. All manipulations with the matrix must be done very carefully so as not to touch it with foreign objects. It is best to handle it with a soft cloth.
Step 5
Remove the new die from the packaging. Never drop it or place it on uneven, dirty surfaces. Install it into the monitor frame, connect the disconnected cables, fix its position with bolts. Reassemble the laptop in reverse order.
Step 6
If your normal monitor matrix is broken, proceed in an illogical way. Unscrew all existing fasteners of the monitor case, remove the matrix and replace it with a new one. Here the replacement is faster, because the design of a conventional monitor is much simpler than on a laptop.
