The address bar is a separate window in the application interface that contains an indicator of the location of the object opened in this application window. Such an object can be, for example, a folder on one of the disks of a computer or a website page on the Internet. Some of the programs that have the address bar in their interface allow you to enable or disable its display at the request of the user.
Instructions
Step 1
In the file manager of the latest versions of Windows, the address bar is always enabled, there is no option to disable it. But if you are using earlier releases of this operating system, to enable the display of the address bar, use the application menu - open the "View" section in it and move the mouse pointer over the subsection with the name "Toolbars". In the list of subsection items, click on the "Address bar" label, and this item will be added to the "Explorer" window.
Step 2
There are other ways to enable the display of the window with the address bar. For example, right-click on an empty space in the file manager window at the partition list level to bring up a context menu. At this point, it contains four lines, among which there is the one you need - select the "Address bar" item.
Step 3
The Windows 7 file manager lacks the options described above, but this version allows you to display the address bar on the taskbar. This is the default bar along the bottom of the desktop and includes the Start button, the notification area with a clock, and open application window buttons. To add the address bar to this list, call the context menu by right-clicking the free space of the panel. Expand the "Panels" section in it and select the "Address" item. The width of the window added in this way can be changed by dragging its left border with the left mouse button.
Step 4
Among modern browsers, the option to disable the display of the address bar is also not provided in every one. Opera has it, so if you don't see this interface element, first press the Alt key to expand the main browser menu. Then use the "E" key to go to the "Toolbars" section, and then press it again to select the "Address Bar" item.
