Any electronic medium is capable of storing in itself no more than the amount of information specified by the manufacturer. However, there are situations when there is simply not enough memory for all the necessary data. This problem can be overcome by increasing the size of the memory card.

Step 1
Use a computer with special software, as it is not possible to directly increase the size of the memory card in principle. In order to free some amount of memory, use archiving programs that are designed to save memory.
Step 2
Look for files on the memory card that are the results of working with Microsoft Office products. These are text and table files. They usually have the extension.doc,.xls,.lnk. To compress such formats, programs have been created that allow you to perform this procedure quickly enough. These are archivers WinRAR and WinZIP, which can reduce the size of a document almost tenfold by packing it into an archive file. However, there is one problem in this situation. The compression result will be noticeable if you have a very large amount of text information stored on your memory card. This is due to the initially small size of such files.
Step 3
Check your portable storage medium for photos. When creating photographs with a digital camera, the file size can sometimes reach 10 megabytes. However, a photo can be of good quality with a "weight" of no more than 2 megabytes. The large size is explained by the fact that the camera initially attaches a lot of unnecessary "garbage" to the created photo, which can be removed. To do this, use special programs that can be found on the Internet (Photoshop, Corel Draw, etc.).
Step 4
Check the memory card for sound files. If they are there and you do not want to delete them, also use programs that reduce the size of the music (winLAME, mp3DirectCut, etc.). This is achieved by lowering the bitrate. However, remember that you cannot completely lower the bitrate, as the quality of the recording will suffer.
