Step 1
If you have Skype 4.x installed on your computer, the program should be updated to version 5.x in automatic mode (by default). If this does not happen, update the program version forcibly. To do this, open the "Menu" and go to the section called "Help".
Step 2
Left-click on "Check for Updates". Most likely, the changes will be noticeable only after restarting the program. The basic principles of installing the program remain the same.
Step 3
Remember that the installation of the program takes place in 2 stages. First, download a small file, then download it and install the Skype software. To download the program, go to the page with the address www.skype.com/intl/ru/download/. Here, on the official website of the program developers, you can always download the latest version of Skype in Russian for free. For the safety of your computer, it is better not to try to download the program on other sites, because in this case there is no guarantee that the downloaded file will not contain viruses.
Step 4
Look for the big green "Download Now" button. When you click it, the user is automatically redirected to the download page of the required version of the program (the language and version of the operating system are automatically determined). A window will appear prompting you to save or run the file.
Step 5
Click "Save" and wait until the file is fully downloaded. As soon as the window with a message about the completion of the download is highlighted, click on the "Run" button. After that, the installation and download of the program itself will begin.
Step 6
Make sure the Skype installation was completed successfully. To do this, check the settings, make sure that the contact list is saved unchanged.
