The optimal value for the speed of movement of a mouse-controlled pointer depends on the program in which it is used. The choice of acceleration is influenced by the physical size of the monitor screen, the resolution set in the operating system, and the user's preferences. When you change any of the above, sometimes it becomes necessary to disable the previously set cursor acceleration. This can be done in several ways.
Instructions
Step 1
If you are using a mouse that has a built-in sensitivity switch, then it is this switch that should be used in the first place to adjust the speed of the cursor movement. Typically, this switch is a small additional button that can be pressed to the next level of adjustment. This is sometimes done using an optional wheel. For example, on A4Tech X7 models, this button is located in front of the scroll wheel and each press activates the next level of acceleration. In this case, the illumination of the scroll wheel changes - an orange-green blinking corresponds to the maximum acceleration, and in the absence of acceleration, the illumination turns off and the wheel has its natural milky white color.
Step 2
If you need to disable the acceleration specified in the settings of your operating system, then in Windows you can do this through the Control Panel. Open the main menu of the system by clicking on the "Start" button or by pressing the Win key, and select the corresponding item in it. In the panel, find the "Mouse" link and click on it to open the settings window. It has five tabs - go to the one labeled "Pointer Options". In the uppermost section ("Moving") there is a slider, setting which in the middle of the scale, you turn off both the acceleration and deceleration of the pointer movement. Then click the OK button and the change to the settings will take effect immediately.
Step 3
If disabling acceleration is required only in any game, then you can set it in the shortcut that launches the corresponding program. Click the game icon on the desktop with the right mouse button and select the bottom line - "Properties" from the context menu. In the properties window, find the "Object" field and after the closing quotation marks, add the appropriate launch keys, separated by a space. For example, to play ContrStrike, type -noforcemparms -noforcemacce.
