Automatic language change is a rather convenient function: the user does not need to be distracted once again by switching the layout manually. But sometimes it prevents you from entering the text correctly. To turn off automatic language change, you need to take a few steps.
Instructions
Step 1
If you are using Microsoft Office Word, make sure you are using the correct settings. Run the program and click on the Office button in the upper left corner of the window. In the context menu, click on the "Word Options" button (located in the lower right corner of the menu). A new dialog box will open.
Step 2
Go to the "Spelling" section by clicking on it with the left mouse button. Click on the "AutoCorrect Options" button in the group of the same name. An additional dialog box will open. Make sure you are on the AutoCorrect tab and uncheck the Correct Keyboard Layout box. Apply the new settings with the OK button in all open windows.
Step 3
Also, switching layouts occurs automatically if a utility designed for this is installed on your computer, for example, Punto Switcher. To temporarily disable the language change, right-click on the utility icon in the notification area on the taskbar. Don't confuse the Punto Switcher icon with the Windows standard language bar icon. The icon you need looks like either the Russian or American flag, or the letters RU and EN on a blue and red background.
Step 4
In the context menu, remove the marker from the "Auto switch" item. After that, the language change will occur after you press the hotkeys assigned by you. To completely disable the utility, right-click on its icon and select “Exit” from the drop-down menu. In the event that the Punto Switcher icon is not displayed on the taskbar, and you are uncomfortable with managing the utility, configure the desired settings.
Step 5
In the Punto Switcher folder, click on the punto.exe icon. The settings window will open. In the General section of the General tab, set the marker in the Show system tray icon and apply the new settings. If necessary, you can create additional parameters for changing the keyboard layout in the "Switching rules" section.
